Article title

This article should be entitled "surface conveyors", or "conveyor lift". Magic Carpet is a not a generic term, it is a brand name that is commonly, but not exclusively, used. In the uphill transportation industry, conveyor lift is a more accurate term.-- Baoluo 07:31, 16 July 2006 (UTC) reply

I totally agree. Magic Carpet is a brand name from Magic Carpet Ski Lift, Inc.Colorado USA. I prefer the lift conveyor.-- Loubeau 02:29, 28 January 2007 (UTC) reply

They are other manufacturers. The description of the lift conveyor with vinyl is one type. We could find platic belt instead.-- Loubeau 02:32, 28 January 2007 (UTC) reply

But what do you call it? At our ski area, it's called The Magic Carpet. http://www.timberlinelodge.com/ski_ride/snowboard_ski_school_brunos.php] I'm not sure what manufacturer made it; it could be the workshop made it (they fabricate a lot of the terrain park features). — EncMstr 03:43, 28 January 2007 (UTC) reply

Call it a Conveyor Belt Ski Lift, or merge it with the existing Conveyor Belt article. I move that this article be changed to cover the generic name as right now it could confuse readers into believing that a conveyor ski lift by any manufacturer should be referred to by the copyrighted trademarked name "Magic Carpet". It should not be given a trademarked name because a lot of ski lifts of this type might be called the same. Mikespedia is on Wikipedia! 11:15, 12 May 2010 (UTC) reply
