Liner Notes by Mike Scalzi

I'm going to reproduce the liner notes here in case anyone wishes to expand on them in the article.

Well, I though [sic] we'd never make it to Poland, but through a strange turn of events we did, and met a strange and wonderful man name [sic] Jacek, who turned out to be one of the biggest Slough Feg fans I'd ever met (besides myself of course...). He told us (in one of his voluminous dialogues) he was recording the show and wanted to put it out as a live album----an idea which I was immediately skeptical of, due to the fact that I had not slept a wink the night before, and had to rush to Frankfurt airport, two hours late for the flight to Warsaw, due to a scheduling mistake.

During the mad-cap romp of a taxi ride across the frozen tundra of Jacek's multiple, gargantuan, yet highly informative dialogues covering the history of the city and it's [sic] architecture, heavy metal, psychedelia, war, the human race... etc... we discussed the possibility of sleeping before the show----since we were to perform for two hours that night. After arriving at the Hotel, and admittedly receiving the kind of rock star treatment I am absolutely unaccustomed to, I actually did sleep for a couple hours, and felt almost twenty-five-percent human when I went on stage.

At first it was a strange atmosphere, because, first of all I was just waking up----and second of all there was no opening band, so we went on to polite claps and a sort of silent buzz. But then I noticed something strange----the Warsaw fans were highly appreciative in [a] unique, almost formal way. They clapped and yelled with a respective resignation that made that brought [sic] the event to a different level.

They were actually paying attention to the music!!! Imagine that at a heavy metal show!!! They watched and listened closely the way one would take in at an orchestra's performance. This may have made us play in a different way----and it was certainly the first show I've ever played where there was an intermission. To my surprise this did not deaden the vibe. After a solid hour of music we were able to get back onstage and do another forty-five minutes without losing the crowd. They stayed just as glued to us until the end of the set.

After the show I was exhausted, but met and greeted almost every fan, I believe. That's a lot of devil horns and smiles----but that's what it's all about: killing yourself to live!!! The Polish fans were the best----they wanted to know everything---and Jacek was the biggest one. This kind of dedication and attention to detail in music is unfortunately a dying art in the United States, but it's nice to know it goes on somewhere else. True music appreciation.

So what you are listening to is a live rock and roll album in the tuest sense: no overdubs!!! I'm not lying!!! We couldn't afford that even if we wanted it!!! Later I told Jacek that I wanted to call the album "War-Saw", and put a picture of a Barbarian on the cover, brandishing a Hacksaw (he vetoed this idea, wisely, in favor of the more traditional live album band photo). But what you have still sort of resembles a hacksaw. It's ra and it rips!!!
