I am fairly new to wikipedia. Is this site (Macrocystis) to be kept/ deleted/extenged- grown-up! Osborne 15:30, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
A computerised algorithm has generated a version of this page using data obtained from AlgaeBase. You may be able to incorporate elements into the current article. Alternatively, it may be appropriate to create a new page at Macrocystis (alga). Anybot ( contact operator) 15:18, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
I would like to know why the biota infobox on this page differs from all other biota pages in having a Domain as its root. I would also like to know why there is a phyllum in this box -- is it simply because you had the data, and didn't for some other species (Lion)? We might have access to a large amount of phyllum classification via ETHAN, to which I have programmatic access. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Leegee23 ( talk • contribs) 07:58, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Macrocystis laevis C.H.Hay was described in 1986. Distribution is now probably by mistake referenced "Abbott, 1976". Schiel & Foster, 2015, ISBN 978-0-520-27886-8, on pages 6 and 13 assert distribution only from sublittoral of Marion Island as like as AlgaeBase: Macrocystis laevis C.H.Hay. -xfi- ( talk) 12:11, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
