Clearly, this information has nothing to with a reference to the town in this magnitude. This should be made into a new article, with a small reference added to the machias article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Downwithelimanning ( talk • contribs) 03:34, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
The Battle referred to is known locally as the Battle of the Margaretta. Longshot7 ( talk) longshot7 —Preceding undated comment added 17:21, 14 June 2011 (UTC).
I'm only an occasional contributor to wikipedia, so I'm not sure what the appropriate approach is to the fact that a goodly portion of this article is taken verbatim from a source long out of copyright, "A History of Machias, Maine" in _A Gazetteer of the State of Maine_, by George J. Varney (B. B. Russell, Boston, 1886). I'm sure no one is going to call and complain, but that makes some of the text 125 years out of date as well as not really original. Maybe rather than a rewrite, the text could simply be properly attributed and quoted? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pdbg ( talk • contribs) 22:32, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Ive felt kind of strssed lately, but Im still planning to improve the climate data for this town. Though my plan to do that is to remove it and then link to a nearby town with better data. The data we have here now is clearly corrupt, as it is far out of step with nearby towns such as Eastport both in terms of its general shapes and the steps between months (May being 16F warmer than April but June only 3F warmer than May). Likely it was based on a very short period of record, which Weatherbase does not reveal. — Soap — 03:30, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
