Utah in nearly 40 years?
This article is written in
American English, which has its own spelling conventions (color, defense, traveled) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other
varieties of English. According to the
relevant style guide, this should not be changed without
broad consensus.
"Qwest Field became the eighth stadium to host the MLS Cup and the first new stadium to host" - hold to avoid close reptition
hold sounds awkward, so I went with "chosen for"
Why was the articial turf criticized by multiple players?
Turf is generally not preferred by soccer players, and this is relatively common knowledge. The two sources I found for Qwest Field wrt the cup did not mention this directly, though, so it has to be omitted.
Road to the final
Delink United States and Canada since they are both major geographical regions
Done, though I don't think it's overkill here.
"The two teams were from Western Conference," - the Western Conference,

I believe it should be clarified that the praise reserved for the crowd and atomsphere was friendly or something along those lines
I don't believe that this can be supported by any sources, nor is it necessary.
