"Yummy mummy" is a totally benign phrase in the UK, so to have it redirect to something with F-words seems rather inappropriate and incongruous. 217.155.20.163 ( talk) 23:29, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Is it worth noting that MILF is also an acronym used in Walt Disney World for the attraction called Monsters Inc Laugh Floor-- TimothyJacobson ( talk) 21:00, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
This has been changed a few times and there seems to be no fixed parameters. I think the limit is around 50, after which the term GILF is more often used. The minimum age seems to be more varied. Mid 30s is common, but it is unusual for anyone younger than that to be referred to as a MILF. Edit 098 ( talk) 01:07, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Is MILF really used in either of those films? I never heard it when I saw them, but I can't be sure I didn't see edited-for-TV versions. The stepmother in those films is too young to be a MILF, she's only a couple of years older than Bill & Ted, which is where the humour involving her character comes from. Edit 098 ( talk) 01:07, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
I've seen Bill and Ted's Excellent adventure many many times. I just watched it again to be sure. The term "MILF" does NOT appear in this movie. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.239.182.160 ( talk) 05:33, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
Why in the world would anyone think a MILF does not need to be a mother? That's just stupid. Its like saying the President of the United States doesn't have to be a citizen of the United States. Its one of the only 2 qualifications that are set in stone. She's gotta be a mother, and you must want to fuck her. The definition that says she doesn't need to be a mom is clearly intended to describe cougars.
This article states: "The plural form of the word "M.I.L.F." has been hotly debated by some frequent users of the term. Some claim that it should be "M.I.L.F.", short for "Mothers I'd Like to Fuck", but there is no grammatical or logical reason why the plural marker should go inside the acronym rather than outside, and pragmatics and actual usage very strongly favor the outside. Nobody says "Linguistics 101 has two TA." www.pta.org uses only the plural "PTAs". And so on. As an acronym, pronounced "milf" rather than spelled out, plural "milf" is simply impossible; no acronym is ever pluralized that way. The plural "milves", patterned after "wolves" or "shelves", is amusing but unjustified except as wordplay. The dozen or so -f words that change to -v in the plural show that pattern for historical reasons and are far outnumbered by regular plurals: beliefs, briefs, chiefs, clefs, decafs, gulfs, oafs, surfs, hundreds more. People can pluralize as they like, but only "milfs" is likely to survive. Google searches show it outnumbering the alternatives by more than a thousand to one." Wow, does this article really need to devote half of its content on how to form the plural of MILF?

Could we please leave Jocasta, Oedipus mother out of this. First, Oedipus The King is a tragedy, not a porn movie. Second, there is no credible source to confirm that she was hot, or that he indeed fucked her. He became king and took her as his wife - that is all you are going to find. And third, MILF refers to other peoples mothers, not your own.
Besides, it is no justification to apply anachronistic terms by invoking the idea that the concept was around before the term, even as i explain above there is nothing in common between Jocasta and a MILF.
I propose to delete the references to her from the article. Kotika98 ( talk) 10:28, 23 September 2010 (UTC)

Someone has changed the definition several times, to define it as "a sexually attractive mother, generally between 20 and 50 years of age". That's not what the sources say about this term. MILF refers to an OLDER woman, a woman old enough to be the mother of the person describing her. That would rule out a woman of 20 for any guy over the age of 5. Per Wikipedia procedure we decide this by sources, not opinions:

Later Someone has again changed the age range to "25 to 50". So I boldly decided to eliminate any age range, since I can't find sourcing for it. "Middle aged" can be sourced, and that's what it now says. -- MelanieN ( talk) 15:51, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
The term “MILF” was first used in the spring of 1981 in Springfield, Virginia. It was originally uttered by the driver of a 1975 Pontiac LeMans while waiting in the left-hand turn lane heading into Springfield Mall. A woman with children pulled up to the right and was waiting at the signal. When the driver noticed her beauty, he simply said “there's a mother I'd like to f#%k...MILF” to other friends in his car.
A group of local students from Hayfield High School started using acronyms to describe everything after one of their girlfriends was deemed “Boring Kay.” She quickly began to be called “BK.” The term “who cares” mistakenly began to be called “HK” because it was close in pronunciation to “BK.” Before long, many common phrases were shorten into acronyms.
MILF quickly became one of those acronyms.
To the surprise of the Hayfield students, the term was overheard weeks later by students at other local high schools such as Lee, Edison, West Springfield and Mount Vernon. In time, the term MILF expanded across the globe and even into movies scripts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Merlin0423 ( talk • contribs) 15:56, 28 December 2011 (UTC)

The term MILF was created in 1988 at Landon School for Boys in Bethesda Maryland by 9th graders while waiting in the carpool line. The term was coined based on a mother who drove carpool named Mrs. Foxman. After a number of potential acronyms the term MILF was decided upon even though it was missing the "T" for the word TO. This term quickly spread within the Landon School and began to appear online in the early 90s as the internet grew in popularity.
