This article should attempt to present the info in some sort of historical order. It's entirely unclear when this was first designed, etc. Someone not using his real name ( talk) 09:49, 7 September 2013 (UTC)
The designer is Danish and the rifle was never used by the US army. The patens may be US patents, but that doesn't indicate anything about the origin of the rifle. The patent mentions Bang as from Copenhagen, which indicates that having the US as the country of origin is sketchy at best.
