Hi, working on a series of articles on Ilirians & Illyria for bs wiki I came across this one here. I noticed it contains incorrect line: "...of a Dalmatian Illyrian chief..." and reference: "...Longarus, a Dalmatian chief..."
I'd like to suggest making changes using the correct citation:
"From the Dardani came Bato, son of the Longarus who had once fought against Philip's father Demetrius II." J. J. Wilkes, The Illyrians, Page 150.
and Livy's original:
28. Hac satis felici expeditione bello commisso reguli ac principes accolae Macedonum in castra Romana veniunt, Pleuratus Scerdilaedi filius et Amynander Athamanum rex et ex Dardanis Bato Longari filius: bellum suo nomine Longarus cum Demetrio Philippi patre gesserat. pollicentibus auxilia respondit consul Dardanorum et Pleurati opera, cum exercitum in Macedoniam induceret...
