Ironholds put an "unreferenced" tag on this page. The only data here that needs references is the list of dates, and they're from the articles themselves, and should be referenced in the individual articles. -- Slashme ( talk) 16:38, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
Pasted from my talk page:
Now that we've gotten some second opinions at Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard/Archive_53#Sources_for_lists it seems to me that there is a general consensus that as long as the list items link to articles which have sources, that's good enough, and it's also easier to maintain references in one place than in two. Based on that feedback, I'm going to WP:IAR and remove the unreferenced tag. I'm completely OK with anyone putting it back if they feel that more discussion is required or that I misconstrued the discussion. -- Slashme ( talk) 07:37, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
Note also that some references are included <g> Collect ( talk) 21:35, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
Isn't it honored on the third Saturday of April? While I haven't seen any official statements that it is, all the dates (from 2008 to 2011) all land on the third Saturday. I'll edit the main page as well as the article, unless anyone has an objection? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.163.219.201 ( talk) 00:11, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
The International Free Hugs Day, on the first saturday of july, isn't mentioned in the list, the article Free Hugs Campaign mentioned the celebration of this day. I have added it in the mainpage (i didn't think it is this easy xD). Ty -- Crotha ( talk) 11:22, 18 May 2011 (UTC)
@ Magould: you have been adding "Chic Spy Day" to this list, but it's not a notable observance, so I've removed it. Please discuss here before adding it again. -- Slashme ( talk) 14:23, 27 February 2017 (UTC)
@ Magould: To be included in this list, an observance needs to be notable enough to have its own page, where it should be referenced to multiple independent reliable sources that discuss it in detail, or it should be supported in this list by multiple independent reliable sources that discuss it in detail. Your only reference so far was a database, which didn't fulfil these requirements. -- Slashme ( talk) 10:29, 28 February 2017 (UTC)
