I'd move it to List of songs about Birmingham, Alabama but they have group first and song second. Neither are alphabetized. Maybe later. Civic Cat ( talk) 18:44, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
I removed this one because the lyrics are about being back in prison, and so I think the song is very likely about the famous prison in Huntsville, Texas. See Huntsville Unit.
I can find no evidence of the existence of such a song. Mark Collie has sung about prison, but I don't see any reason to think this is a song.
I find no evidence of such a song, nor of a noted artist by this name.
Bart (not Bert) Starr was a famous American football player who played for Alabama, but I find no evidence of this song existing.
See: The Two Poor Boys - this song seems to exist, and I found the lyrics here: [1]. The song is on a compilation album for 1927-1931 when the Huntsville Unit was already well known, so it's probably about that, absent any evidence to the contrary.-- Jimbo Wales ( talk) 16:55, 26 April 2021 (UTC)
I've pretty well cleaned out the list, which wasn't what I set out to do, but here we are.
This does exist and is a song and isn't about a prison, so I'm leaving it on there. It's not clear to me that it can be proven one way or another which Huntsville it's about, but it's quite Southern in sound, so... I'll let it slide.
The other two are quite clearly definitely about Huntsville, Alabama.
