This page adopts a convention for specifying the size of a pipe. The pipe dimension, given typically in inches, is the diameter of the pipe. So the word "diameter" is assumed; you don't need to add it to the size. When used as an adjective the number of inches is hyphenated. For example, '16-inch diameter' and '16-inch-diameter' and '16 inch' and '16 inch diameter' all become '16-inch'. Also, for numbers less than 10, we still use digits instead of words, so three-inch would be 3-inch. This is to be consistent with all the other dimensions on this page.
I have edited this page so all the pipe dimensions follow this convention. -- Bill.albing ( talk) 04:08, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
Does anyone else think we should sort the listing so that the most recent incident is seen first (top of page)? -- Bill.albing ( talk) 04:08, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
