Need to add André Leon Talley (born 1949), a fashion journalist, ( /info/en/?search=Andr%C3%A9_Leon_Talley) to "North Carolina residents born elsewhere" or "Lived or studied in North Carolina, born and lived elsewhere."
He talks extensively about growing up in Durham, NC ( /info/en/?search=Durham,_North_Carolina), his grandmother's work at Duke University ( /info/en/?search=Duke_university) and his time at NCCU ( /info/en/?search=North_Carolina_Central_University) in his recently released and highly promoted documentary, "The Gospel According to Andre."
