Still didn't find time to work on any of these lists, unfortunately, but my idea was that this list covers only important research publications while
books on cryptography would cover textbooks, encyclopedias, historical books, and the like. I think this would be a split both clear and helpful to the reader. The two lists would be cross-linked in the See Also section, and possibly also within the sections where appropriate (e.g., almost all classical works on cryptography are summarized in David Kahn's The Codebreakers, so this could be stated in introductory text of a section on classical cryptography).
