US' part has episodes before and after its independence. Brazil's has no mention of episodes before its independence and between independence and the proclamation of the republic. Some are very meaningful like the Inconfidência Mineira, many black led revolts against the portuguese colonial government, and the Revolução Farroupilha. I spent the last few days copy editing this whole article and picked a standard to make all the entries as consistent as possible. It would bring me great joy for others to follow this format so we do not return to a state of chaos here.
Here is a sample entry from Haiti:
1. February 5–29, 2004: President Jean-Bertrand Aristide was ousted during his second term.
