US' part has episodes before and after its independence. Brazil's has no mention of episodes before its independence and between independence and the proclamation of the republic. Some are very meaningful like the Inconfidência Mineira, many black led revolts against the portuguese colonial government, and the Revolução Farroupilha. I spent the last few days copy editing this whole article and picked a standard to make all the entries as consistent as possible. It would bring me great joy for others to follow this format so we do not return to a state of chaos here.

Here is a sample entry from Haiti:

1. February 5–29, 2004: President Jean-Bertrand Aristide was ousted during his second term.

Here are the conventions I used:

• Date is in Month Day, Year format (e.g., June 22, 2024). If there is no date or month, just use the year.
  • For numerical ranges, I used the en dash (–) so we have February 5–29
  • For date ranges that include months, I used the word "to," as in "January 10 to May 11 2024"
• If there is an article about the specific coup, attempted coup, or whatever, I anchored the link on the date of the event. I did not necessarily include the name of the coup in the list because there's a link to the main article if people are interested.
• There is a colon after the date.
• I tried to use complete sentences as much as possible
• I used the past tense (X overthrew Y) and not the present (X overthrows Y). There was a mix of tenses here before I edited so I picked past tense and ran with it.
