I really think that merger was inappropriate, Syria used to be a stand-alone post (until August 1999) [1], as such there are a whole bunch of resident ambassadors to Syria who were not ambassadors to Egypt (listed below):
These people should not be listed on the Ambassadors to Egypt page when they were never ambassadors to Egypt, right?
