Wouldn't it be more useful to make this a real-life chronology, instead of a fictional one? That way, instead of being a list of one-off chapters, storylines, or issues, this could actually be a list of series and miniseries, much the way most other comics are handled. - A Man In Bl♟ck ( conspire | past ops) 03:48, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
The reason I mention this is because I came here to figure out what title the Archie Goodwin Star Wars comics is under (since the title of the series was just "Star Wars") and also a list of all the Star Wars comics published under Marvel's time with the license (as opposed to Dark Horse's comics), and this list is completely useless for both of those. - A Man In Bl♟ck ( conspire | past ops) 03:51, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
Publishing dates need to be added for all the comic book series. This article should have two chronologies, one of fictional chronology, and one of publishing chronology (which is missing), like in most other articles of this sort (see list of Star Trek comic books and list of Transformers comic books). Publishing companies also need to be added.
This page is terribly lacking right now and doesn't even tell what the first published series was, nor does it explain which were the major series, nor does it tell who published which series, giving readers interested in reading these comic books no idea what place to start. To turn User:Ranat 23's argument of "Because the 'canon' timeline is much more appealing to those who collect the comics for they prefer to organize them according to the EU timeline." on its head, actually, I would argue that a publishing timeline would be just as useful to those wanting to collect the comics.

This list is completely useless to me without a publication date order - it comes off as the kind of list you'd see on a fan forum or a star wars wiki and not the kind of list an encyclopedia should have. 68.190.52.2 ( talk) 21:03, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
I know, this discussion seems to be finished years ago, nevertheless: the fictional chronology is perfect for this article, and it is exactly what i was searching for (including the numerous links that make it even more helpful). Thanks to all the authors! Yet some titles are missing or misplaced, i will gladly contribute a bit. -- Fah ( talk) 08:55, 2 February 2020 (UTC)
Working my way through the comics, reading each and every one, i feel that both the above discussed criteria (fictional vs. real-world chronology) make sense in their own way. I still think the criterium "fictional chronology" is the most important for this article, but lets face it: there is not "the one" Star Wars universe - there is a multiverse. Different "time lines" with an remarkable development of storytelling and drawing over the course of the real world publishing initiatives - every one retelling the popular myth according to the changing needs and abilities of the readers (and the artists) of the successive decades. So i will slowly reorganize the material: first criterium is "fictional epoch", second is "publication date". -- Fah ( talk) 21:16, 28 March 2020 (UTC)
So some of the comics listed here have been cancelled, and I was wondering if there's a way to mention it. Should they be removed, have a separate section for cancelled comics, or have some sort of note next to them? I was also wondering if unreleased comics should be listed with references to where they were announced or if we should wait for them to be released to add them.
