According to FOX, they are calling this the 'second season'. I'm aware they all have a 1 at the start of the production code. It's my understanding that this show was scheduled to air 5 episodes starting in April of 09. Then go on hiatus while FOX covered a string of prime-time NASCAR races that would take over the time slot for several weeks.... Before the finale of the first run aired "Math Lab" It was pulled, and the original plan of having the show return in June when FOX had some clear schedule space again, were scrapped. But the first little run was never scheduled to go past 5 episodes anyway... I think it's up in the air right now and is basically just semantics... But since FOX is the company officially broadcasting these episodes, and they are labeling them as "Season 2" so I think it's appropriate to list them as "Season 2" here as well... 72.81.68.96 ( talk) 14:53, 6 October 2009 (UTC) reply

I looked on the official fox website for the show and i didnt see any mention of this being the second season. I say we just keep it all as one extended season. look at FOX's "view full episodes on-line". They have it listed as season 2 there. It also appears as season 2 on Hulu. "It was just a lengthy delay and they were all intended to air in one season anyways." Yes, but as I explained the order of 13 episodes was supposed to be split by a long delay anyway. It was to air 5 episodes at the end of the traditional TV season and then air 9 later in summer.. June was the date it was originally supposed to come back before it was pulled after 4 eps. Check out this article. It talks about the episode "math lab" being canceled and it identifies the episode as the 'season finale' :

"May 12, 2009 - It looks like a quick ending for Sit Down, Shut Up, as FOX is pulling the animated series from the air a week before the season finale was supposed to air, reports Variety." [2] 72.81.68.96

since it was initially supposed to be coming back so soon it can be assumed they were treating it as a mid season finale. Many shows do that and have winter/spring finales which just represent the first half finale. Since its listed multiple ways the way we have now is fine. checking over the press releases at foxflash its all one season, but the show has been really been tossed around so its not the easiest situation to understand, and hulu isnt the best place to use as i've seen numerous other shows that had the episodes listed in the wrong season. I looked on FoxFlash.. They actually don't list any season number at all. All they have is the production code. I feel like the fact that FOX is calling it season 2 on it's own site is being overlooked here. My reference to Hulu wasn't meant a a primary source of information but rather as a further confirmation of the fact that thy are listed as Season 2 on FOX's own site. FOX owns the show, FOX airs the show. If they want to call it season 2 then it's season 2. Now there is a credible source listing it as season 2 (FOX's own site.) Is there a more credible one that lists what's airing now as season one? I haven't seen it.

(also it might be relevant to point out that the traditional "TV season" starts in fall and ends in spring. Therefore, the 2 runs technically appeared in different TV season years, which is probably why they are calling it season 2.) 72.81.68.96 ( talk) 01:41, 8 October 2009 (UTC) reply

yeah i see, but this didnt start in the fall. It was almost like a summer series that due to bad ratings extended its run into the fall season. Yes. However, it started at the end of what was the fall 'animation domination' season. It's finale would have coincided with the finales of the other FOX animation domination shows. I really feel it should be changed to accurately reflect what is coming from the FOX site. [3] They should be the ultimate authority on this. I feel that leaving it like this just makes things more confusing for everybody, and it is also quite possibly inaccurate. If someone watches this on FOX's site and then wants to get info on the episode, they may become confused.

Just in order to put a final point of emphasis on the issue, I did a little digging on foxflash and came up with this: [4] Scroll to May 17th. You can clearly see that FOX was considering 'Math Lab' the "season finale" even back in May before it was pulled. I'm going to suggest that we list 'math lab' as unair-ed, but under season one based on the information on this link. At least until we see it get a confirmed air date, that is. There are some shows that split their seasons, but its still the same season. One example of a major network that does this is USA. They usually have shows with seasons around 16 episodes, and they are them in 8 episode runs. They always call the mid season finale a finale. The show produced 13 episodes. All intended for one season hence they all start with same production code. FOX threw it around the schedule a bit before completely pulling it. It was initially only supposed to take a month break after math labs initial airdate, so it was just an extended break on the season. Plus foxflash called it a time period premiere when it returned. It's being called season 2 by FOX on demand (as shown in the link above) and Math Lab was identified as the 'season finale' on foxflash (also as shown above). I though this was a dead issue. You were the one who changed it to 2 season in the first place.. why the change of heart? What you have just argued is irrelevant based on what has already been discussed above. If you wish to discuss perceived 'intent' based on production codes than this should be placed in a special section of the article... The main article should deal with facts. And the fasts are, based on all reliable sources provided, that FOX is considering the episodes currently airing to be season 2. Unless the show itself becomes famous, it's unlikely that most of the episode articles will survive WP:AfD if nominated for deletion, and frankly, I'd probably recommend deletion of many of these.

I recently removed a PROposed Deletion tag from SpEd, because I don't think such an article deserves to die without discussion.

The first 2 episodes have a pretty good (read: lengthy) articles already. I would suggest at least keeping those. I would also suggest that the 'math lab' episode keep it's article because there are some interesting circumstances surrounding it. (the supposed content issues and such... This was the only scheduled airing of the show to be specifically pulled off the air.) Those are my votes for keepers. The rest of the episode articles seem to only duplicate the information in the synopsis on the episode listing page anyway. Pothed ( talk) 15:47, 21 November 2009 (UTC) reply
