I've done a bit of reasearch today, and it seems like there was more than seven 2.class gunships in the Norwegian Navy... I've so far identified eight, of three subclasses:
Does anyone have any sources that can verify or disprove this? If not, I'll get on with making articles on the remainding two (Gor and Tyr), as well as articles on the Vale-class and Gor-class, and amend this list to reflect this information. WegianWarrior 09:54, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
I've found information on more Norwegian Naval vessels. Some are easy to place, but two are giving me trouble: Frithjof (1895-1928) [4] and Viking (1890-1920) [5]. Both are listed as 'cruisers', but I'm not sure if that is a correct heading (partly because there is no such heading allready, and at least to me, the word 'cruiser' brings up a different mental image). Any options on what subheading to place these under?
Other ships I've found info on, and plan to add in and start articles on, are the frigate Fridtjof Nansen (1928-1940) [6] (likely a coast guard vessel, see entry for 1931 and 1931, 1940) and the minelayers Glommen (1916-1950) and Laugen (1918-1950) [7] [8]

The British U class submarine HNoMS Ula (1943) ex. HMS Varne, in service 1943-1965 seems to conflict with this entry: V class: HNoMS Ula (P-66) (V class) ex. HMS Varne, Given to Norway by Britain in 1943.
Any opinions? This is further complicated by the V class being officially called "U-Class Long hull 1941-42 program". Inge ( talk) 16:07, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

Please see the question at
Talk:Norwegian Gunships concerning Schooners (kanonskonnert). The "schooners" listed (Patriot Georg, Trondhjem and Borgersamfundet) plus one more appear to be large rowed gunboats, not schooners. There are a couple of good references at the talk page.
There is no problem with Axel Thorsen or with Skjøn Valborg.
