This list is pretty long. Should we organize it into separate pages for each letter, or just let it be? Or possibly categorized by manufacturer might make more sense. -- Wapcaplet
A good list of who developed what game (but no release dates) is NES Dedicated -- Wapcaplet
I think its good to have one long list of all games in one page. I agree with you that the list should include the developer of the games. It would look nice in a html table like the one on NES dedicated. Possibly titles could be categorized by release year, developer and genre on new pages like List of Nes games by developer -- Modster
I've added some of the developers listed at NES Dedicated, but there are lots to go. May require some verification from other sources, especially considering that different companies sometimes developed the sequels to games, and we don't know how accurate some of our sources are. In most cases I'm only adding the developer name if I'm familiar with the game and am pretty sure that's who developed it. I considered table-izing what we have already, but I personally don't think that would make it any easier to read, and it would add quite a bit of load time. I'd be more comfortable about using a table if we had more information to list (such as country, PAL/NTSC and so on), and if we went ahead and divided it up by letter. Anyone else have opinions on this? (it would be a lot of work, no matter how you look at it) -- Wapcaplet
I've added all developers that I could find, and I've created tables and sections for each letter. Years are coming next, then I will list non-US releases as well. There are also some prototypes and such, and I even have a big list of cart mfg #'s, but I'm debating on whether it's worth adding. I don't mind adding it, but there's so much info already and this would make the page huge. -- TravelingDude 21:15, 4 Sep 2003 (UTC)
BTW, FWIW, the games I added to the list came from the swedish http://www.retrosuperstore.com, so I'm not entirely sure whether the titles were released in the USA or Japan, whether they might have had different names and so on. -- Schnee 16:23, 5 Sep 2003 (UTC)
See: Talk:List of NES games/proposal
Hmm, I'm not sure I like this table layout myself - most of Wikipedia seems to thrive on very simple formatting, and bulletted lists broken into sections are a good example of that. I've not just come here to criticise, though, I've been going through the lists listed under List of computer and video games and trying to put them into a slightly more consistent format. For an example of my 'target' layout, see List of SNES games. My suggestion is that the year, developer, etc. should appear as notes/parentheses after each entry, e.g.:
However, I won't go ahead and write a script to undo the hard work of putting it in a table until others have had a chance to comment. I'll put the introductory paragraph and compact TOC for now. Let me know your opinions. - IMSoP 18:46, 12 Jan 2004 (UTC)
I know how to split this list up!
List all games under Japanese names, and all Japan-only games, to: List of Famicom games
And list games released in North America and Europe in this article. WhisperToMe 06:30, 24 Jan 2004 (UTC)
Nintendo actually has an "official" list of NES games themselves here: http://www.nintendo.com/doc/nes_games.pdf Our list should probably be updated from this one. -- Schnee 18:34, 25 Jun 2004 (UTC)
In order to remove any confusion to potential readers of this list, I am removing any rom hacks that have been added to it, and have suggested at the top of the page that a list of rom hacks be found elsewhere in Wikipedia. There are potentially (and probably) more rom hacks than original roms, and if you include some, you have to include them all. Therefore, they should be cataloged on their own page if at all (which I personally don't see the need for). If you are simply looking for a place to publicize your hack, visit http://www.romhacking.net/ -- Plotor 18:30, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
Do you think it should be templatized? Look at source of
pl:Lista_gier_dla_NES.
for example:

Even though there is no article for it on Wikipedia, I thought I'd make note that the actual title for "Crash and the Boys: Street Challenge" is "Crash 'n the Boys: Street Challenge." A small change, of course. But I'm picky, as it was one of my favorite NES games. -- Brandon Myers 18:40, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
someone with better information than i have on this subject should look at the edits made by 142.59.175.212 on 3 march 2007. he has been vandalizing numerous other articles. his edit pattern is somewhat different on this article (different subject matter than normal, too), and i don't know if it's vandalism as well, or legit. -- barneca ( talk) 23:00, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
There are some missing games. Here in this article and even in Nintendo's list. For example, Antarctic Adventure is missing in both. Anyone knows? Should it be included into the list. Should we ask Nintendo? -- 84.122.23.151 12:39, 24 May 2007 (UTC).
