Okay, I have not yet added ANY of the 'lost' soundtracks onto this page, nor any of the Big Finish productions or spinoffs, nor anybody else's spinoffs! It's already quite a bit, IMHO. Other Doctor Who fans can feel free to reorganize as you see fit, we may need subarticles after all! Perhaps we'll break into "audio releases of missing doctor who stories" "doctor who soundtracks" "doctor who MP3 discs" "doctor who big finish releases" etc etc. -- JohnDBuell 05:46, 2 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Added release info for The Crusade (May 2005) and Doctor Who Reconstructed (June 2005) from the BBC's online store. The Ice Warriors having a ship date of August is only a guess from Outpost Gallifrey - Ice Warriors was originally scheduled for May and Crusade for August, and supposedly they switched. The Reign of Terror is not yet on any official or unofficial schedules. -- JohnDBuell 15:21, 2 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Doctor Who and the Daleks is the official BBC Audio title for this MP3 CD. The liner notes do discuss the original book title: Doctor Who (subtitle:) in an exciting adventure with the Daleks (capitalizations from the reproduction of the original cover). It became Doctor Who and the Daleks with a 1973 paperback reprinting, and remained so with a 1975 hardback reprinting. I'm sticking with the official BBC title here, as that's the title they're using for their audio release, that being the topic of the page! :) -- JohnDBuell 19:48, 2 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Do we want to include these here? On the one hand, they were commissioned to originally appear on the BBCi website (as it was then known), on the other hand, they were produced and released by Big Finish, NOT BBC Audio. My vote is to have them on the Big Finish page. JohnDBuell 12:16, 7 May 2005 (UTC)
If anyone reading this has copies of the earlier "missing soundtrack" releases (pre-1999) or any of the audiobook releases that were incorporated into Tales from the TARDIS vol. 1 & 2, or even the David Banks "History of the Cybermen" tapes, PLEASE feel free to add any information about those original releases. -- JohnDBuell 16:55, 9 May 2005 (UTC)
I got a reply from Mark Ayres about the CD release of The Reign of Terror. He reiterated that they are committed to seeing it released on CD. No date has been given by the BBC, the Restoration Team, or Amazon.co.uk. Current fan speculation is early 2006, to coincide with "The Beginning" DVD box set. -- JohnDBuell | Talk 3 July 2005 18:12 (UTC)
Does anyone have a copy yet? I'm probably going to hold off for a little while, and I might get one after the holiday season (provided amazon doesn't sell out). For our list here though, I'm guessing it would fit in under the Original programmes category, but does anyone know how many discs per story are in the box? -- JohnDBuell 01:10, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
Added three photographs, representing different releases. I could add another one of the music soundtracks if anyone's interested. -- JohnDBuell 21:54, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
This list is getting rather long - most of the Soundtrack Releases are already listed in a Doctor Who Soundtrack disambiguation page, which coudl easily be updated to include the information from here, and the audiobook section is getting long, and will get longer, especially as the RNIB seems to be producing more of the new books.
So what I propose is this: List of Doctor Who Audio Dramas, covering the TV soundtracks and radio plays (with a link to the Big Finish list); List of Doctor Who Soundtracks, a conversion of the already exisiting Doctor Who Soundtrack page to include information from here (possibly including related music releases as well); and List of Doctor Who Audiobooks, covering all the released Doctor Who book readings. Any Comments? Etron81 ( talk) 15:23, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
Here's a mockup I did in my sandbox for the audiobooks list: User:Etron81/sandbox/List of Doctor Who Audiobooks Etron81 ( talk) 02:19, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
I think your proposed lists are fantastic. Let's do them! Nettyboo ( talk) 22:47, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
Perhaps we could remove the opening part about the seperation of audiobooks and suondtracks, and then make sections for audiobook and soundtracks in this article which simply list links to the the main articles only?-- 77.99.230.8 ( talk) 20:54, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
