Sources for stated areas

The sources for the stated areas are to be found at the individual linked articles for each department, which should have a citation to a reliable source. If not, check out either the official web page for the department (xxx.gov.co), IGAC (which is difficult to use), or a secondary source such as the Historical Dictionary of Colombia cited under references. Note, that as of February 2013, several websites, including Statoids, have not updated their listings of department areas as Colombia has made changes. -- Bejnar ( talk) 22:40, 16 February 2013 (UTC) reply

The data was now replaced with data issued from the national geostatistic framework from 2021. It is available as a shapefile where one of the parameters is the departments’ areas. Monstrobaleine ( talk) 13:00, 27 February 2024 (UTC) reply
