There is a picture of Steffens and his communist wife Wertheimer (changed to Winter to obscure origin), of Bavarian nobility, in her book Red Virtue. His wife was still defending Stalinist Russia as late as 1963. This article is a whitewash, and his use of emotional narratives to ignite the passions of the common man for greater totalitarian control of all humanity is completely missing.
