Consistent with recent discussion at WT:BASEBALL, this is a proposal to rename biographical article Lefty Hayden to Gene Hayden. Searching on newspapers.com is consistent with findings noted in the Baseball-Reference/Sports-Reference discussion found here. That is, from contemporary newspaper reports during Hayden's time in professional baseball (1954 to 1958), he was referred to as "Gene Hayden" much more than "Lefty Hayden" (or his given name of Eugene). Search examples, all done on newspapers.com:
As there is no current article named "Gene Hayden" on Wikipedia, this would be a straightforward move, with "Lefty Hayden" continuing to redirect users to the new article title. Comments welcome—please reply in the below section. Thanks. Dmoore5556 ( talk) 03:32, 3 May 2021 (UTC)

Lefty Hayden → Gene Hayden – Eugene Franklin Hayden was predominantly referred to as "Gene Hayden" during his time playing professional baseball (1954–1958). While baseball reference sites such as Baseball-Reference.com list him as "Lefty Hayden", that name was not used nearly as often as Gene Hayden by contemporary newspaper reports. The results of searches conducted via newspapers.com are listed on the Talk page. Dmoore5556 ( talk) 03:44, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
