Phrase
The phrase "was appointed as examiner" doesn't really make sense?

I have simplified the text, by removing the unclear phrase. The phrase stemmed from an attempt of extracting from, rewording and translating this sentence (in Danish): "Efter at have taget Examen artium, philos. et philol. blev han 1797, 16 Aar gammel, ansat som Hører ved Christianssands Skole."

OK. That makes more sense (I would use the word "hired" though). I thought the phrase referred to his own examen artium.
