"It is about 1.15 meters long, with a wingspan of 3,000 meters. The average weight is 14 kilograms." These are most certainly not averages. Ferguson-Lees et al. (2001) put its length range at 95–115 cm, wingspan at 250–290 cm and weight at 5.4–9.4 kg in the wild, with an average of only 6.2 kg for East African birds. Also weights of 6.5–9.2 kg (males) and 10.5–13.9 kg (females) were reported for captive negrevensis. -- Anshelm '77 00:35, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
According to the following sources, I have changed the average weight of this vulture.
