I'm not asking you to prove a negative - just see what people in the organisational side of things say. If that fails please ask Sheikh Yahya Safi why "Imam Ali Mosque" is on his biography webpage. SmithBlue 12:57, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
I'd never heard of "Imam Ali ben Abi Taleb" till i started researching Sydney Muslim culture. I have found another variation on the name, "Masjid Ali Bin Abi Taleb, known as Lakemba Mosque", from Sheikh Shady's bio on http://www.sydneyic.org.au/Sh_Shady.html SmithBlue 10:17, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

We report that Shaykh Safi, the Imam of the mosque, issued a fatwa relating to Christmas in 2012. Another paragraph has been added reporting that Safi had issued a similar fatwa in 2016. I formed the opinion that the 2016 report probably related to the 2012 fatwa, so I deleted the paragraph with the edit summary "Already covered in earlier paragraph, assuming that this is the 2012 fatwa". The paragraph has been restored with the edit summary "restored 2016 fatwa, this is not about 2012."
I am still of the opinion that there is no adequate evidence that a second fatwa relating to Christmas was issued in 2016, for the following reasons:
In both reports the Grand Mufti of Australia is reported as commenting
For these reasons I will delete the paragraph. Please do not restore it without discussing the issues here.
If it can be established that there a second fatwa was issued in 2016 then it should be described in the same paragraph as the almost-identical 2012 fatwa. Verbcatcher ( talk) 19:21, 23 December 2016 (UTC)
