I am surprised that the article still says that Cyriacus invaded Egypt in 722AD which has no historical backing at all. Read the History of the Patriarch of the Coptic Church, which is attributed to Severus of Ashmunin. The invasion happened around 750AD. Read the Live of Khail (743-768AD). This may be correct (Budge is not a careful author), but this is not integrated into the article, argumentative, & not clearly sourced. (Where is this "History of the Patriarchs of the Egyptian Church attributed to Severus of Ashmunin" to be found?) -- llywrch 23:37, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
Did he really exist? Or was this person a mere hoax? I've Googled "Mikael of Makuria", only seeing 33 results, and none of them can be regarded as reliable, while some of them are copied from certain Wikipedia pages. Hope that Wikipedians proficient at history of Africa verify this person's existence.-- RekishiEJ ( talk) 13:57, 10 August 2016 (UTC) Added and altered some words 14:01, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
