This fellow's notability is certainly in question. According to Mitcham's divisional pen pictures book, he commanded the 73rd Inf Div for five weeks in summer 1944 as an Oberst when it was rebuilding in Hungary after being smashed at Sevastopol, then commanded the then regimental-strength 126th Inf Div in the Courland Pocket for four months as an Oberst then Generalmajor.
