I've separated out the following text into a sub-section, since it's not clear how (or even if) the information about the Old Pooncarie Mission is relevant to the Kureinji people. However, I hesitated to put that enormous "relevance" warning box on a mere stub article!:
relevant? Across the river from the Kureinji, Mildura which is in Ladji Ladji tribal land, was first settled in 1847. citation needed Tindale states that the Ladji Ladji lands ran from 'Chaika Creek to Mildura on southern bank of Murray River.'
In 1855, the Church of England Society which? funded the Old Pooncarie Mission eight kilometres west of Pooncarie Township on the Darling River.
