In 1950 my father, 'Nobby' (Ronald) Clark became a freelance scriptwriter for Knockout and joined the office team at Fleetway Publications, Farringdon Street, London, in 1951. Others working on the comic at that time included Eric Bradbury, Hughie McNeill (originator of Our Ernie's sign-off line "Daft I call it")(see also [1]), Mike Western (see also [2]), Bob Paynter and Roy Davis. Later they were joined by Bill Titcombe (see also [3]). The editor, at that time, was Arthur Bouchier. These were all close family friends.
