  • I haven't reviewed any GANs for a while (and am now out of the GA cup, it seems), but this seems like a nice one to start with... FunkMonk ( talk) 09:07, 13 May 2016 (UTC) reply
  • What does the scientific name mean?
I know what "tragus" means (he-goat) but no idea about "oreo".
  • Could we have scientific names in the cladogram as well?
Done
  • Nothing on differences between subspecies?
Added.
  • "and white lips and chin. " and "The underbelly, chin and lips are all white." Redundancy?
Fixed
  • "The incisors might even get damaged while grooming." I'd add "damaged by the hairs" or some such, the sentence doesn't work well alone.
Done
  • "include the caracal, eagles, hyaena, jackals, leopard, serval and snakes." Why are some singular and some plural?
Fixed
  • "to protect it from the eye of predators" From view? Eye seems a bit dramatic...
Yours is more scientific :)
  • "It is feared to be extinct in Burundi.[1][19]" Doesn't this make more sense unde threats? Why did it go extinct there?
This section describes the distribution, past and present. I feel it is best placed here.
  • "of which a few have been considered to be independent species" Which?
Depends on the source, I have not seen all so I say "some". Actually it seems most have been treated as independent species at least in Ungulate Taxonomy.
Perhaps state this then? FunkMonk ( talk) 20:53, 16 May 2016 (UTC) reply
Clarified. Sainsf ( talk · contribs) 07:04, 17 May 2016 (UTC) reply
  • "at the shoulder. weighs from 8 to" Full stop seems weird here?
Fixed
  • "might last as long as one of the partners dies." Seems a bit weirdly worded. Until one dies?
Done
  • Perhaps left align the double image under description so it doens't create a square of white space under the taxobox?
I tried it, but the text appears to stick to the image, which doesn't appear very nice to me.

Glad to meet you again! Now I am as busy as you were last month, I have a heap of GA noms (all taken up in the same week, as luck would have it!) and reviews. Will get to this soon. Sainsf ( talk · contribs) 14:05, 13 May 2016 (UTC) reply

No rush! I have no GA quota to meet, anyway... FunkMonk ( talk) 14:15, 13 May 2016 (UTC) reply
