King Edward Avenue was given its name in 1936. I had always heard that this was to commemorate the reigning monarch Edward VIII, and not to commemorate the earlier Edward VII. Király-Seth ( talk) 18:25, 28 April 2010 (UTC) reply

Well, it looks like I had that wrong. I see King Edward Avenue named as such on a 1911 map of the Shaughnessy subdivision, as it appears on page 81 of Derek Hayes' Historical Atlas of Greater Vancouver. Király-Seth ( talk) 19:11, 4 November 2010 (UTC) reply
