"but also for his unpredictable and sometimes volatile behavior off the field." how biased? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.234.168.147 ( talk) 19:57, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
The article has nothing but good things to say about Mitchell's defensive ability, yet I seem to remember him as a pretty bad fielder. Comments? Thunderbunny 01:35, 22 Sep 2004 (UTC)
After Mitchell left the Giants, he played a lot less due to injury, and had trouble finding jobs with major-league teams (presumably due to "attitude"). The article states that the quality of Mitchell's play declined significantly, but I don't think the historical record bears that out. Mitchell was still an awesome offensive player, primarily for Cincinnati in '93-'96. For example, his OPS+ was 151 in his San Francisco seasons, and 164 for '93-'96. His cumulative numbers were unimpressive, not because he couldn't hit, but because he couldn't play a full season.
I'd like to update the "Later Years" section of the article to reflect this, but figure it makes sense to bring it up for discussion first. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sdvinay ( talk • contribs) 06:57, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
Edited out Chris Brown as Mitchell's high school teammate. Kevin Mitchell went to high school in San Diego, and Chris Brown went to High School in Los Angeles. 24.181.226.51 ( talk) 03:43, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
Edited out the comment claiming the Fukuoka Hawks changed their MLB hiring policy and held their hires to tight worker restrictions that harmed them physically by being unable to manage their own medical care. The source cited said nothing of that and the only other player who seems to have played for them is Chris Heney, for one year in 2001. Its a strong claim and needs some sourcing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Desqjockey ( talk • contribs) 03:43, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
