History

The earliest newspaper mention sale of crown land in "township of Kempton, Green Ponds" was in Oct 1840 [1]. A later advert [2] referes to the Jan 1841 "townships of Kempton and Buckland are also to be sold on that day, in sections of from 1 to 10 acres". In Walch's Tasmanian Almanac 1863, Green Ponds rates an entry on p154, rather than Kempton. Hbachus ( talk) 23:10, 28 March 2010 (UTC) reply
