Cite for origin of name?

Does someone have a citation for where the name came from? For that matter, is there some website that collects "official" stories of the things after which genes and proteins are often rather creatively named? Jimw338 ( talk) 22:06, 25 May 2012 (UTC) reply

The name came from Ron Vale, who is a big fan of Japanese combat arts — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:4CA0:4FFF:1:0:0:0:31 ( talk) 13:38, 17 February 2014 (UTC) reply

Nonsense

This end of the neuron functions section makes no sense, on a couple of levels:

Microtubules break into fibroblasts after slight bending. But, when katanin is present, the bending can lead to breakage because it enhances the access of katanin to the lattice.[6]

The citation link is dead.
