The Turkish etymologic online dictionary nisanyansozluk clearly approves the Greek origin of kaldırım:
~ Yun kallidrómos καλλιδρόμος iyi yol (düzgün döşeli yol?) (loan word) Greek kallidrómos καλλιδρόμος best path (smoothly paved path?)

The Aradena kalderimi (cf. photo) is truly 2 to 3 m width. The kalderimi in the bottom of the Anopoli gorge must be some 4 m. I've never seen a kalerimi of only 1 m width; every mule would resist to use such a narrow passage. It's stupid to blame Rackham a "typo" on such elementary and obvious facts. -- Gerd-HH ( talk) 15:29, 7 February 2014 (UTC)
