I'm confused. In the info box, it says he was a Member of Parliament till 2011, but in the article text, it says he resigned in 2008. This seems like a conflict, and the info box seems wrong. Here's a good paper that summarises the south african working for water scheme that was initiated by the south african Department of water Affairs and Forestry and confirms Asmal as the minister for water affairs - could be used as citation for this section
