Is This edit regarded as "inprovement" ? This ivent is described as "the Annexation of Alexandretta" ( google books) in historiography written in English language, as "Hatay'ın ilhakı" ( google books, literally the annexation of Hatay), "Hatay'ın Türkiye'ye katılması" (Hatay'ın join Turkey), "Hatay'ın Türkiye'ye katılması" (Hatay's join motherland) in historiography in Turkish language. "The return of Hatay to Turkey" ( google books} is neither common nor neutral. Takabeg ( talk) 13:50, 11 July 2011 (UTC) reply

Annexation means conquest of a foreign land. For example, it may refer to, Ottoman Hungary. But Hatay was a part of Turkey even after the First World War. It was occupied by the allies after the armistice and after a seies of events (see Hatay Republic) it was returned to Turkey. Return is a much better word to describe this event. I am sure the authority of Meriam Webster is not questioned. [1]. The two words are as follows:

  • annexation to incorporate (a country or other territory) within the domain of a state
  • return:to pass to an earlier possessor

In this case the the verb return is much more mesaningful. Nedim Ardoğa ( talk) 13:13, 3 August 2011 (UTC) reply
