JTTOU had a lot of obscure comedy references (that probably were not understood by the show's mostly teenage and 20-something audience).
For example, one of the buildings at the school was named Huntz Hall, which is also the name of a charcter actor from the 1940s-1950s Bowery Boys films.
Perhaps an editor with good knowledge (or old videotapes) of JTTOU could add a passage detailing, or even a list of, the things and people that JTTOU used to make jokes with that only a small percentage of the audience would get.

There was a "
Growing Pains" reference in the
Virgin Islands episode. Wendy and Cindy are trying to get Doosler to take them along. Wendy says, "Your parents forbid you to see the 3 of us?"
He replies, "You and
Tracey Gold."

During one of the episodes, which escapes me at the moment, Bill Kirchenbauer's character made a reference to " Growing Pains" by saying that he would write a letter to Alan Thicke. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Buslovich ( talk • contribs) 19:23:17, August 19, 2007 (UTC).
How exactly would we cite information from the episodes themselves? Clearly they can be a source. Also, what other sources could we use besides the episodes themselves? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Buslovich ( talk • contribs) 03:21, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
I think there is a lack of info on the son in this artical and how he was into gag/pratical jokes/special effects. Someone needs to add to this(Grindhousezombie) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.26.191.60 ( talk) 07:04, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
There's even less information on the youngest girl -- just her name and that she wasn't born yet when the show started. Not even an actress's name -- did she never appear on the show? Just a doll that people carried around? 104.153.40.58 ( talk) 21:16, 8 January 2023 (UTC)
