Does anybody know where the name Jumanji comes from? If so, please add it to the article. 4.68.248.65 ( talk) 01:25, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
Jumanji = jungle + magic —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.164.65.71 ( talk) 23:39, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
As a native Zulu speaker, I can tell you that it certainly has no meaning in Zulu, as the author claims. 196.37.82.218 ( talk) 12:38, 16 November 2017 (UTC)
Hey, isn't it true that Judy was the one that turned into a monkey in the book as Peter did in the movie? The plot mentions that the girl says Jumanji "completely out of context." When playing a board game, yelling the name is not considered "out of context." I am going to remove that because it just sounds silly. Languageleon ( talk) 10:36, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
If you read the book, you'll see what "out of context" refers to. I'll not give away anything, but it makes sense when you read it. TACOELF29 ( talk) 1:36, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
I have read the book, watched the movie, and seen its variations. It still does not make sense. Maybe place a spoiler tag here to identify what you are talking about? Thanks for the response, Languageleon ( talk) 04:51, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, dude, I'm putting it back. It fits. It just fits. ( talk) 1:36, 3 November 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tacoelf30 ( talk • contribs)
I noticed this book is categorised as both a novel and a picture book, & listed in the template as a novel. Does anyone know the reasoning behind this categorisation? It is, by my understanding, primarily a picture book, not a children's novel. Amphy ( talk)
The Storyline section of this article sounds like it was written by some kid who just finished reading the book. I mean, come on. I haven't read the book myself so I can't re-write it, but someone ought to. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Spirit Stiff ( talk • contribs) 05:06, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
