... that American author Julie Jensen McDonald's first story was sold to a
Sunday school paper for $6.50? Source: "One of the biggest thrills of her life was selling her first story. It was a children's story entitled The Birthday Cake, and it was published by a Sunday School paper which paid her the grand sum of $6.50." - Outstanding Iowa Women Past and Present page 73
Article is new enough, QPQ done, AGF on source, prose is a bit close but passes, hook is fascinating enough. If nominator wants, adding the age at which she sold the story would be a nice touch. Nice job, thank you for your work! ~
