Though cited, I note it is stated Queen Marie made him Duke of Jassy. I question the technical and legal correctness - surely it was within the authority of King Ferdinand as sovereign to grant foreigners and citizens alike honours of the Romanian realm, Marie was only queen consort although she could have well had a say in the decision.
