Orson Hyde as "a Jewish-American and a Mormon". I can find no evidence either online or in published sources that he was a Jewish convert to Mormonism. He was apparently born of Christian (though non-Mormon) parents and raised as a Christian. He did convert to Mormonism as an adult.

LDS section
I blanked the section because I found numerous copyright and close paraphrasing problems from
this source. I suggest that the section be written again from scratch, paying close attention to
WP:Copyvio this time. I'm willing to start it, and I hope the original authors will chip in. ~
