The re-ordering of the opening sentences doesn't really solve the problem. Being an auteur isn't about doing numerous different technical jobs. It's not a problematic claim so much as a nonsensical one. Regarding the other incorrect statement, the only noir director I can think of in whom a Sternberg influence can be traced is Hugo Haas, who is in any event a special case. -- Chips Critic ( talk) 08:39, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
This MOS reference doesn't really make sense and I always thought it referred to Billy Wilder but I may be wrong about that. He moved to the US when he was two and was unlikely to have kept his 'thick Viennese accent'! - 82.27.203.34 ( talk · contribs)

Just no. There was a distribution deal called Parufamet, but of course the vast German UFA wasn't Paramount's "sister studio". 2A02:AA1:102D:4FEB:B00E:3BF6:8A02:81C7 ( talk) 21:48, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
Aren't screen credits "official" by definition? Are there "unofficial" screen credits? 2A02:AA1:1045:2BF9:4460:920F:6816:FF78 ( talk) 14:34, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
