Were fertility drugs involved in their ending up conceiving septuplets/delivering sextuplets? This seems like a very relevant fact, but isn't even mentioned.... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.13.222.219 ( talk) 02:29, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
Yes fertility drugs are the reason that they ended up with twins and sextuples. It was mention in on of their epidoses. not sure which one buit i remember it being said.-- Random05 ( talk) 21:21, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Yes. I also saw an episode where it was said during the opening credits that fertility drugs were used. Jason Quinn ( talk) 01:31, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
Kate did not do IVF. There were no eggs transferred.
Shouldn't we delete this "trivia" fact, since A - WP articles shouldnt even have trivia, and B - this "fact" seems to be incorrect or conflicting with what is said above. It mentions a Dec. 24 date, but none of the children have birthdates then. Either this is a falsehood or there needs to be clarification. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mattygabe ( talk • contribs) 19:28, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
I doubt there was 7 children. You have to find out how these fertility drugs work and how the scientific functions work. Like I said, I don't think there was 7. It could be possible, but not probable. She was probably bleeding from stress on her own body from having six people inside of her at some point. Even 2 could do it. As far as fertility treatments, have six kids, 3 boy and 3 girls makes perfect sense. She had the chromosomes split right down the middle, and they all took to her wall. That is abnormal, but when they split, one side is a boy and one side is a girl. Most of the time, 2 take, not six.
It's also pretty mean to speculate about these people losing ANY children. If they did, and they want us to know, they would tell us. I find this entire thing to be pretty interesting and the show itself could help scientist continue to develop techniques to help couples like this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.108.181.98 ( talk) 04:23, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
I've seen the first show they did, before the series started. It was called "surviving twins and sextuplets" or something like that. Anyway, in that special Jon and Kate talk about how it was actually 7 heartbeats heard at first, then she started bleeding and hurting on Christmas eve and they thought they were going to lose all the babies. But when they went in, everything was fine and there were only 6 heartbeats heard. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.209.109.42 ( talk) 20:56, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
Kate did not miscarry the seventh child--the seventh child never developed. Vjydanz ( talk) 16:53, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
I know jon is part Asian. But is he filpino? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 32.152.87.134 ( talk) 04:36, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Jon is half Korean. His mother is 100% Korean, and his father was 50% irish and 50% welsh (im not too sure about his father thought, but his dad is white). Which makes his cildren 25% korean.-- Random05 ( talk) 01:11, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
Maybe some people want to know. Maybe they don't care about what hers is. Considering that he physically looks different, it most be a topic of interest. It's not like they don't like him because of it. However, with the "holyer than thou" comments like the one above, you WILL breed contempt and hate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.108.181.98 ( talk) 04:28, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
I've removed the Behind the Scenes section since it seems to be an advertisement - JodoYodo ( talk) 01:44, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
The article mentions that John works for a family friend and used to do IT, as well as Kate having been a nurse. But the expense of feeding and entertaining 8 kids (they went to Disney World!) as well as preparing for schooling and such... have they mentioned how all of this gets paid for? Does TLC pay expenses as compensation for doing the show? I think this information could contribute to the article and give more information for readers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.243.124.211 ( talk) 02:10, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
I think that I recall hearing in rumor that Jon's father was a dentist, if so, he probably received at least something of a decent inheritance; but really, none of that is our business unless they choose to share it in the show, but it would be interesting to know. I do hope that they are compensated well for this show, as great as it is I would be surprised if it lasts through the children's college years, also it certainly must take alot of their time and energy and they are really opening alot of their private life to the public for our entertainment (and, I think alot of us keep them in our prayers!). I'd be curious to know but will continue to watch (and pray) regardless. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.224.0.28 ( talk) 02:11, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
