During World War II was the Allied Joint Intelligence Committee a true Joint Allied stucture like SHAEF or SEAC or was the JIC as described here and the equivelent of British 11th Army Group before it was redesignated Allied Land Forces South East Asia? Philip Baird Shearer 14:43, 3 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Should there not be a disambiguation page for JIC? The acronym is also commonly known for referring to the 'Joint Industrial Council' standard in regards to various industrial parts such as pipe-fittings, as well as specifications for design of facilities such as enclosures for industrial equipment, and even the commonly known wiring standards regarding colour of particular wires. It has since been disbanded, but many of the codes and specifications are still in use and many of the basic ideas have been adopted by new formed agencies which have essentially replaced the JIC. The JIC (Joint Industrial Council) also functioned as a sort of labour union, however this may or may not be the same JIC as was involved with setting up industry standards as I am not familiar with that part of the history, however I have some inquiries to some folks more knowledgable than I in this matter. Some references to this JIC:

This page was created, but I redirected here. The contents were as follows. I think everything is already covered in the article. Zeimusu | Talk page 14:31, 10 November 2005 (UTC)
The recent disclosure of the cover page of a Top Secret document says "UK TOP SECRET STRAP2 CAN/AUS/UK/US EYES ONLY" Any ideas what STRAP2 is? I'm guessing it's some sort of Strategic Action Plan... ( 20040302 ( talk))
I have created a United Kingdom intelligence community page where we can address the broad issues, such as the relative scope of MI5 and MI6 (as mentioned here). Starting with the list of key agencies shown at the global List of intelligence agencies. It should provide an appropriate place to deal with some of the ambiguities that the present atomised articles fail to cover well.
