This article is written in Australian English, which has its own spelling conventions (colour, realise, program, labour (but Labor Party)) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus. |
The current disambiguator "wheelchair sportsperson" is IMHO ugly and clumsy. It sticks out like a sore thumb on the list at John Maclean. Other athletes with a disability are usually disambiguated with the term "athlete", "Paralympian" (if applicable) or the name of the sport for which they are most notable. In this case it's not clear whether "Paratriathlete" or some other would fit best, but "wheelchair sportsperson" looks ugly and even patronising to me. Roger ( talk) 09:48, 18 January 2013 (UTC)
