In his memoir, LaFarge writes that before he was born his mother had already borne 9 children, of which one was stillborn and one (Raymond) died in infancy. This makes LaFarge the 9th live-born child, but I can only find the names of 7 of his 8 live-born siblings. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.108.32.244 ( talk) 21:31, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
Father John LaFarge's last name is spelled both ways in the popular press, and his father used the open style. However, on his book The Manner Is Ordinary, the closed-up version appears on the title page and book jacket, a clear signal of his own preference.Valli Nagy 18:27, 5 June 2016 (UTC)
