I'm interested where the information that he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross came from? He was certainly awarded the Distinguished Service Cross which was a higher award, however, I think the fact he is said to have been awarded the DFC is incorrect. If you look at his CWGC page there is no mention of it there and neither is it in other documents, like the London Gazette, Casualty form, CWGC, RAF Museum, Family Memorial in Edmonton etc — Preceding
