According to William C. Nell, Lewis was the son of Job Lewis of Lancaster (presumably Lancaster MA), who died in 1797. George Price says he was the brother of Robert Benjamin Lewis, son of Matthias Lewis, and also cites the 1870 Census which shows a Joel W. Lewis living in Chelsea, who was born ca. 1808. I don't know who's right. I have a hunch Lillian A. Lewis was related to them. If anyone can fill in the blanks, please do. --MopTop ( talk) 01:04, 7 November 2017 (UTC) reply
